Kermit Charles Taylor, 76, a resident of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the family residence. He was a former resident of Reliance, TN and a member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church. He retired from Dixie Yarn after 45 years of service. He loved Tennessee football and playing with his grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Carrie Bates Taylor and brother, Pat Taylor. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Betty June Fraze Taylor of Chattanooga; sons Timothy J. Taylor and G. Scott Taylor and wife Vicki both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Logan Taylor and Tamra Thomas; great-grandchildren, Emma Miller and Jimbo Thomas; sisters: Barbara Jean Couch of Pensacola, Fl, Mary McDonald of Benton TN; brothers, Glenn Taylor, Don Taylor both of Chattanooga, Kenneth Taylor of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2010 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Wilfred Wright officiating. His family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
