Larry "Steve" Spurling, 70, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on July 8, 2022, with his beloved family at his side.

He was born on November 27, 1952, to the late Leonard John and Zula Irene Spurling. Throughout life, Larry developed a love for working on old cars and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Spurling was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Leonard and Zula Spurling, he was preceded by his brothers, Raymond Spurling and Calvin Spurling.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Ann Parks; beloved sons, Scott Spurling, Brian Spurling, and Chad Spurling; several grandchildren, one great grandchild; three brothers and one sister. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, with Pastor Lee Ingram officiating.

Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Hopewell Cemetery in Madisonville.
