Lee Roy Givens, 86, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on July 6, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 18, 1938, to the late Henry and Lillie Williams Givens.  Lee Roy was a member of Zion Baptist Church.  He enjoyed watching westerns, gardening, hunting and especially spending time with his grandchildren. To pass the time he would sit on his front porch peeling apples.  Lee Roy never met a stranger, to know him was to love him.

In addition to his parents, Henry and Lillie Williams Givens, he was preceded by his beloved wife, Mary Anita Johnson Givens; siblings, Harold Givens, Mary Ford, H.S. Givens, Jr., Benny Givens, David Givens, Rebecca Shuler and infant brother.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving daughters, Lori (Larry) Tankersley, Misty (James) Bice; grandchildren, Brandon (Alicia) Tankersley, Raven (Eden) Tankersley, Hunter (Katie) Martin, Remington Givens; great grandchildren, Elena Tankersley, Gideon Vines; sister, Rosa Lee Slaven; sisters-in-law, Bettie Anderson and Betty Ann Givens. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Parillo officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Richard Givens, Michael Shuler, Chris Slaven, Eddie Self, Dennis Bates and Mark Evans serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Martin, Remington Givens and Brandon Tankersley.

Friends and family will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
