Lela Mae McCamy Mantooth, age 93, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Mantooth was the daughter of the late Sam and Katie Pangle McCamy and was also preceded in death by her husband, Knoble W. Mantooth and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children and spouses: Gary and Janice Mantooth and Vell and Dianna Mantooth all of Old Fort; five grandchildren and spouses: Scott and Mary Mantooth, Sonya and Mike Cross, Lisa and Curtis Biggs, Shannon and Jeremy Dill and Amy Mantooth; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Randall Headrick and Reverend Jim Parm officiating. Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Dill Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
