Lester Eugene Black, 82, a resident of Reliance, TN passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Lester was a previous member of the civil defense and volunteer rescue squad. He retired from the U. S. Forestry Service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Black; parents, William Walter and Nora West Black; sister, Jessie Cates; brothers, Clifford Black and Robert Black.

He is survived by his children, Edna Wilcox of Etowah TN, Debbie Watson (Ray) of Riceville, TN, David Black and Ricky Black (Sandy) both of Reliance, TN; grandchildren, Johnny Wilcox, Angie Watts, Cody Watson; great grandchildren, Lorna Perry, Kaitlin Wilcox, Brittany Daughtery, Brantlee Watson; great-great grandchildren, Darence Perry, Braden Daughtery, Bryson Perry; sister, Mary Lee Cook. Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Wilcox officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Watson, Cody Watson, Steve Wilcox, Blake Wilcox, Victor Emmons and Justin Pike.
