Lizzie M. Cronan Stewart, 88, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stewart was the daughter of the late Andrew Cronan and Laura Smith Cronan and was also preceded in death by her children: Brenda Gordon and Gilbert Stewart; sisters: Mary Cross and Lillie Burns; brothers: Johnny Cronan, Frank Cronan and Grover Cronan; special friend, Gussie Cronan.

Survivors include her children and spouses: Steve and Dianne Stewart, Roger and Deloris Stewart and Stanley Stewart all of Benton; grandchildren: Brad Stewart, Franklin, Donna, Angie, Jeff, Jennifer, Kim, Derida, Michael, Dennis, Adam, Ashley, Jeremy, Claude and Eddie; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Anna Bell Cross and Janey Stewart both of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Daniels, Reverend Floyd Boggs and Reverend Tony Dugan officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Higgins Funeral Home and also from 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the church prior to the service.
