May 10, 1935 – June 17, 2025
Margie Sue Green Ledford was born May 10, 1935, to the late George Thomas and Lorene Waters Green, the third of ten children. She departed her earthly life for her heavenly home on June 17, 2025.
Sue was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. She raised her children in a Christian home filled with love and respect, and they were honored to call her "Mother". "Her children arise and call her blessed." Proverbs 31:28. Sue had a beautiful smile, spunky attitude and a contagious laugh. She loved life and appreciated the fact that she got to celebrate 90 years.
In addition to her beloved parents, George Thomas and Lorene Waters Green, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Joe and Bill Green; sister, Kaye Green Steelman; nephews, Joe Daniel Green, Adam and Brad Green; niece, Lisa Blankenship; son-in-law, Don Hatcher; brothers-in-law, Frank Cummings, Robert Chesnutt and Cecil Blankenship, sister-in-law, Joann Green; father of her children, Jewell Ledford.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving children and grandchildren, who she loved beyond measure, Kathy and David Adams, Candy Hatcher, William "Buck" and Cathy Ledford, Jan and Len Bell, Keri Sue Adams, Thomas, Lindsey and Jacob Bell, Chloe, Jeff, Asher, Joy,
Clement and Ruthie Hanson and Willie, Allison, Waylon and Micah Ledford; her cherished siblings, Marilyn Chesnutt, Yvonne (Doyle) Nichols, Patsy Blankenship, Emily Cummings, Nell (Joe) Edwards, Samuel (Judy) Green and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends also survive. .
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Gary Silvers delivering the eulogy. Music will be provided by Eric McNelly and Ivan McNelly. Interment will follow at Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Thomas Bell, Willie Ledford, Alex Cummings, Tim Wilcoxon, Marcus Taylor and Jordan Maynard serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank those who helped care for Sue during her illness. The Lord provided special people who touched our lives, filling our hearts with every act of kindness. We appreciate the prayers, visits, cards, phone calls, gifts and concern given to us.
