Psalm 116:15

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

On March 29, 2026, The Lord called our precious Mother home to be with Him. Our Mother, Marietta “Gail” Smith, also known to her family and close friends as “Nubbie” was 88 years old when she passed from this life to her eternal home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Charles “Franklin” Smith, her parents, Aud and Bonita Hinds, and a precious granddaughter, Amanda Joy Hall.

She leaves behind many who will miss her and treasure her memory, they include her five children, Brenda (Art) Hessee, Terry Garofolo, Deanna Scott, Charyl (Hal) Watz, and Chuck (Cindy) Smith. She has 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who filled her life with joy and loved their Mimi very much. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Auda Espeseth and her children.

Our Mother lived so much life in her 88 years, and she would often tell us that she had a wonderful life and that she was so thankful for it. Of all the things that she had done and experienced in life one thing that she would want everyone to know was the most important and life changing for her was when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. And so, believing that Jesus is faithful to His word, we do not say goodbye and mourn as those who have no hope, but SEE YOU LATER MIMI, CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT GREAT REUNION!
