Marvin "Red" Morgan, 75, of Benton, departed this life on January 26, 2025.

He was born on October 26, 1949, in Springtown, Tennessee to the late Carson and Donnie Blackwell Morgan.

"Red" was a pastor at Mountain View Baptist Church and Springtown Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he loved to cook wild meat and fry fish that he had caught. A few of his fondest memories were spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Carson and Donnie Blackwell Morgan, he was preceded by his beloved wife, Patsy Ann Cross Morgan; sister, Barbara Freeman; brother, Curtis Morgan.

Left to cherish the many memories include his adored children, Melissa (Kevin) Roberson, Pete (Velar) Morgan, Penny Morgan, Patty Disspain, and Tammy Morgan; grandchildren, Cassie Hyde, Joby Lane, Scotty Morgan, Kayla Morgan, Blake Cross, Nathaniel Bishop, Morgan Taylor, Keisha Wright, Emily Disspain, Elexas Disspain, Chandler Disspain, Lorna Perry, Kaitlin Pike, and Brittany Daugherty; 18 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Morgan Cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his wife. Joby Lane, Blake Cross, Nathaniel Bishop, Morgan Taylor, Chandler Disspain, and Johnny Morgan will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
