IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary M.
Burns
August 30, 1937 – January 25, 2025
Mary Maude Moore Burns, 87, of Benton, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Mary was born August 30, 1937, on the family farm in Bulls Gap, Tennessee to the late Keith Moore and Cordelia Snapp Moore.
She was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church and last attended church at Delano Baptist Church. She loved researching her family genealogy, playing the piano, gardening, quilting, and watching her bird feeders. Mary was a graduate of Bulls Gap High School and attended Carson Newman College. She fondly remembered her early years of work as a nurse at Greenville Hospital and Bradley Memorial Hospital. Mary was a devoted mother, and grandmother and enjoyed her family and homemaking.
In addition to her parents, Keith and Cordelia Snapp Moore, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Roy Elmer "Dick" Burns: brother, Charles Moore; sister, Ann Moore Nelson; brother-in-law, James Nelson; son-in-law, Larry Jenkins.
Left to cherish the many memories include her daughters, Darla Jenkins of Delano, Rhonda (Darrell) Morgan, and Joda (Greg) Clark of Cleveland; grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Nathan Morgan, Emily Morgan, Caroline Clark, and Natalie Clark; her sister-in-law Paula Moore; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
