Mary Lewis, 101, a resident of Calhoun, TN, passed away on March 8, 2025, at her home.

She was born on February 29, 1924, in Polk County, to the late John Walter and Ella Florance Burchfield Lethco.

In her long lifetime she witnessed the Great Depression, the invention of smart devices, and voted in 21 presidential elections. She and her husband, Grover Spencer Lewis, purchased their farm in 1947. They raised beef cattle and tobacco and had a large garden. Mary especially loved her flowers, the farm was also home to their daughter, grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, John Walter and Ella Florance Burchfield Lethco, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Spencer Lewis; brothers, Newt Lethco, Ralph Lethco, Ray Lethco, James "Doc" Lethco, Ernest Lethco, John Lethco and her sister, Jane Lethco.

Left to cherish the many memories include her daughter, Martha Clark; grandson, Allen Clark; two great-grandchildren, Maeve and Spencer Clark. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Benton Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
