Mary Nell Quarles, 76, left peacefully surrounded by love and family in the comfort of her own home on February 7, 2026.

She was born on April 27, 1949, in Etowah, Tennessee to the late Elbert Adam and Magdalene Mary Goforth Owens.

Throughout life, she enjoyed the ocean and traveling to Florida.  She loved her family and most of all she loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One of her favorite bible verses was Psalms 121.

In addition to her parents, Elbert Adam and Magdalene Mary Goforth Owens, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Quarles, Sr.; siblings, Joan Moats and Bobby Owens.

She is survived by her beloved children, Kasey Quarles, Brittnee (Brad) Henderson, and Heather Quarles Kendall, Chad Moats; grandchildren, KaNay Quarles, Terri Quarles, Faith Henderson, Grace Henderson, Will Henderson, Tucker Graham and Gavin Graham; great grandchildren, Kamri Quarles, Krue Quarles, Krimson Quarles, and Koleman Quarles; brothers, Billy Owens and Eddie Owens; and her four-legged companion, Zoe.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Greasy Creek Cemetery.

Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, prior to the service.
