Mary Gwendolyn Carter Wilson, age 58, a resident of Linsdale, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at her home. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress and was a former employee of Morgan Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Carter; grandparents, Jordan C. Carter, Mary J. Carter, Jesse Columbus Kirkland and Julia Ann Kirkland; brothers, Jordan F. Carter and Charles K. Allen.

She is survived by her son, Douglas A. Wilson; mother, Nona Mae Kirkland Carter; and sister, Wanda Carter all of Delano; niece, Bobbie Allen Ross and husband, Jeremy Ross; great nephews, Christopher Allen and Jesse Murphy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Paul and Reverend Greg Harper officiating. Interment will be Monday at noon at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Johnny Coe, Chris Allen, Jesse Murphy, Marvin Weaver, Eddie Culberson and Tom Strickland serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
