Melissa Gail Owens Andies, 56, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 10, 2025.

She was born on March 24, 1968, in Etowah, Tennessee, to the late Jimmy and Juanita Cronan Owens.

Throughout life, Melissa enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family. She was a 1987 graduate of Polk County High School and attended Cleveland State Community College. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Melissa was a dedicated employee at Peyton's and retired after 23 years of employment.

In addition to her parents, Jimmy and Juanita Cronan Owens, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William "Bill" and Viola Morgan Cronan; paternal grandparents, Luther and Cora Cochran Owens.

Left to cherish the many memories include her boyfriend, Robert Bryson, whom she loved very much; sister, Penny (Terry) Stonecipher; nieces, Jacqueline (Andrew) Lizotte and Lauren Stonecipher. Several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive. She loved them all.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Jake Brown and Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Terry Stonecipher, Andrew Lizotte, William Bates, Charlie Denney, Stephen Cronan and Johnathan Bates serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
