Mildred Inez Trentham Nelms, 76. a resident of Benton, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Woody and son, Swan (Ud) Nelms.

She is survived by her father, Edgar Trentham of Copperhill; 2 sons: George Nelms and wife, JoAnn of Benton and James Nelms of Benton; 2 sisters: Ruby Bradford of Benton and Sue Pankey and husband, James of Benton; brothers: J.M. Trentham and Dewey Trentham both of Benton; several half brothers and sisters; special friend, C. L. Nelms of Benton and special neighbor, Sharlene Walls of Benton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Tony Duggan and the Reverend Paul Gregg officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the services.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
