Mildred (Deo) Burns Stinnett , age 87 a resident of Delano, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2007 in a Cleveland hospital. She was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ellen Byrd Burns; husband William (Armpy) Stinnett; sons, Wayne Douglas Stinnett, Alvin Stinnett; brothers,
C.L. Burns, John Day, Odel Burns; sisters Pearl Vaughn, Maggie Day.
She is survived by her sons, Carl and Linda Stinnett of Benton, Jerry Stinnett of Delano, Ray and Marthian Stinnett of Cleveland, Gwinn and Brenda Stinnett of Cleveland; daughters Edith and Willard Jones of Cleveland, Luzella Stinnett of Calhoun. 35 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren. Sister Mildred and J.R. Disney of Benton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Welcome Valley Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Moore, Reverend Lee Ingram, and the Reverend David Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Ocoee Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday May 9, 2008 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home and Saturday from 12 until 2 prior to the funeral at the Church.
