Nancy Jo Long, 83, of Benton, passed away peacefully at her home on August 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 9, 1942, in Cleveland, TN, to the late Gordon and Nora Lee Hood Clark.

Throughout life, she enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, going fishing, camping, and sitting on the front porch. She enjoyed being with her family, who she loved with her whole heart. One of her fondest memories included taking care of her customers as a waitress. Everyone who met her loved her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Gordon and Noral Lee Hood Clark, she was preceded by in death by her four brothers, Carlos Clark, Gary Clark, Charles Clark, and Reece “Jr” Hill.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Long; three children, Debbie (Delbert “Dinker”) Jenkins, Nancy Helton, and Robin Clark (Johnathon Jack); grandchildren, Charles (DeKeisha Mullinax) Jenkins, Dusty (Zaden) Zembree, Amanda (Riley) Goforth, Dakota (Charlie) Clark, Tommy (Allie) Barron, Josiah Jack, and Crystal (Julie) Keck; great-grandchildren, Madison Jenkins, Cooper Cardwell, Alexis Cardwell, Chesney Goforth, Wrenley Goforth, Hadley Walker, and Lakely Walke, Hailey Morris, Abby Morris, Matthew Coppings, Caiden Coppings; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, with Floyd Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery with Dakota Clark, Charles Jenkins, Jeff Clark, Johnathon Jack, Dinker Jenkins, and Riley Goforth serving as pallbearers.  Tommy Barron will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
