Norman (Dude) Akins, 69, of Benton, passed away, Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home. He was of Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by father,Norman Akins and mother and step-father, Maxine Harbison Nichols and Rual Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Eny Akins of Benton; sons, Keith Akins and wife, Suzanne, and Joe Akins, all of Benton; daughter, Amy Williams and husband, Chris of St, Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Zack, Alex, and Ashleigh Akins, and Avery Akins and wife, Brittany all of Benton, Brock Raper of Englewood and Sarah and Brad Williams of St. Augustine, FL; great-grandchild, Johnathan Pike of Benton; sister, Jenny Chastain and husband, Russ of Delano. Several nieces, one nephew, great niece and great nephew also survive. There will be no funeral services at this time.
