Opal O. Jones, 73, of Benton, TN passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Chattanooga, TN. She loved to clean and cook. Her family's Thanksgiving meal was not complete without her delicious dressing. While working as the cafeteria custodian at Benton Elementary and Polk County High School, 13 years, she took great pride in having seen a class complete their education beginning in kindergarten to high school graduation. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Buddy Jones. She is survived by her children Randy Jones, Bernard (Sheri) Jones and Cheryl (Bobby, Jr.) Cross; grandchildren Eylish Danielle Jones, Christopher, Joshua, Joseph, and Matthew Cross; "special great grand-daughter" Ilia Pike. A nephew Tim (Jean Marie) Jones; great niece Chandlee Jones and great nephews Garrett Jones and Matt Jones also survive. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Zion Baptist Church. A memorial service follows at 5:00 p.m. with the Reverend Jerry Herron officiating.
