Peggy Sue "Granny" Thompson Peggy Sue "Granny" Thompson, 71, a resident of Benton, passed away June 5, 2009 at a hospital in Knoxville. She loved going to auctions. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Alice Jane Thompson and her parents, David Lee Head and Bessie Head. She is survived by Robert E. Thompson of Benton and her children, Larry Eugene Thompson of Wauchula, FL, Caroline Hatchel of Benton, Gary Thompson and wife, Teresa of Lawrence, MI, Teresa Diana Thompson of Cleveland, Bessie Jane Porter of Benton and Kenneth Chris Thompson of Boling Green, FL; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Head of Washington, Donnie Joe Head of Springdale, AR, Edgar Head of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Kayleen Weatherby of Springdale, AR and Mary Farrell of McCrory, AR; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Robbie Speights officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a White Dove Release Ceremony.
