Reba (Jones) Burris, 80, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith and a life-long resident of Polk County. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hoyt Jones and Ada Rogers Cross: brothers: Buddy and Junior Jones: sister: Helen Jones and husband, Austin Burris. She is survived by her brother: Clarence "Nook" Jones of Benton; niece: Cheryl Cross and husband, Bobby; nephews: Randall Jones, Bernard Jones and wife Sheri, Tim Jones and wife Jean Marie, and Mike Jones; great-nieces: Eylish Thompson and husband, Damon and Chandley Jones; great-nephews: Christopher Cross, Joshua Cross, Joseph Cross, Matthew Cross, Matthew Jones and Garrett Jones. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Herron officiating. Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery with a white dove ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
