Rebecca Boring, 70, a resident of Benton, TN passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home. She was a "doer". She up-cycled junk and could make something out of nothing, loved working in her yard, gardening, sewing and decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Needa Chancey Boring; brothers, Earl Kenneth Boring, Paul Boring, Vernon Boring and brother-in-law, Cooper Rogers. She is survived by her children, Carole Hicks, Brenda Hicks Key and Dona Hicks all of Cleveland, Chris Jones of Etowah and Jackie Jones of Benton; seven grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Catie Poteet of Helena, MT, Christie Poteet of Pembroke, NC, Kirby Gentry, Stephen Staley and Jack Hicks all of Cleveland, TN, T.C. and Will Jones of Niota, TN; one great grand-daughter, Ava Gentry of Cleveland, TN; brother, Lewis Boring, Eugene, OR; sisters, Della Mae Womac, Riceville, TN, Iris McNeely, Calhoun, TN, Martha Rogers, Cleveland, TN, Colleen McDonald, Calhoun, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive and her special pet, Gizmo. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 at the family residence, 144 Yuchi Drive, Benton, TN.
