Ronnie E. "Wooley" Smith, 76, a resident of Benton, TN passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his residence. He was a member of Wetmore Baptist Church, a decorated veteran of the U. S. Air Force and retired from CSX Railroad. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, going to Polk County ballgames, Tennessee football and Braves baseball.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Waldrop Smith; parents, Arnold and Grace Compton Smith; step-mother, Mary Hayes Smith; brother-in-law Johnny Wilcox.

He is survived by his children, Carole (Buddy) Norwood, Tracy (Dennis) Bishop and Rick Smith; grandchildren, Josh (Melissa) Norwood, Caleb (Laura) Norwood, Benjamin Norwood, Rebekah Bishop, Carly Smith and Cole Smith; great-grandchildren, Bella Norwood and Chase Frank; siblings, Jim (Valarie) Smith, Sandy Allen, Debbie (Alan) Passmore, Shannon Wilcox and Chris (Amanda) Smith. Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Wetmore Baptist Church in Delano, TN with Reverend Johnny Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the church prior to the service.
