Roy “Harold” Carver, 89, of Benton, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born on September 26,1936, in Reliance, TN to the late Joe and Mandy Carver

Harold was a talented Iron Worker with the Local Union 704. An avid outdoors man, he loved hunting and fishing. His knowledge of the mountains was unimaginable, and he knew everything about them. He was a man’s man, being very well thought of by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Joe and Mandy Carver, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior and Bud Carver; sisters, Ruth Black, Gene Dunn, Ailene Wilcox, Grace Webb; and his first wife, Mary Ann Carver.

Left to cherish that many memories include his sister, Florene Jenkins, children, Dean (Gayle) Carver, Kay (Barry) Kincaid, Joann Jamerson, Danny (Misty) Carver; grandchildren, Jonathan Jamerson, Amanda (Ben) Johnson, Blake Carver, Brittany (Chad) Dills, Zachary (Jessica) Carver, Thomas (Nicole) Kincaid, Lacey (Justin) Johnson; ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Archville Baptist Church Cemetery with Danny Carver, Gordon Dills, Thomas Kincaid, Zach Carver, Jayden Jamerson, Jeff Swanson, and Anthony Hancock serving as pallbearers. Brady Dills and Justin Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, prior to the service at the church.
