Roy Thomas "Tom" McClary, 83, of Benton, departed this life on December 15, 2024.
He was born on May 13, 1941, in Cleveland, TN to the late Roy E. and Arlene Kimbrough McClary. Mr. Tom was a faithful and dedicated member of Zion Baptist Church and was a truck driver for more than 40 years.
In addition to his parents, Roy E. and Arlene McClary, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye Newberry McClary; brother, Ben McClary; nephew, Marc McClary.
Left to cherish the many memories include his two sons, David (Lynne) McClary and Daniel (Belinda) McClary; grandchildren, Haley (Blake) Cross, Alex Pell, and Ben McClary; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Cross, Declan Cross, Roman Cross, and Mason Cross; one niece, Beth McClary-Wolford, and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, with Alex Pell, Ben McClary, Blake Cross, Brandon Calhoun, Lige Thomason, and Russell Rogers. Honorary pallbearers include Wilson Rogers, Johnny Campbell, and current and former Zion Baptist Church deacons.
Family and Friends will gather from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 953 Parksville Road, Benton, TN 37307.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.HigginsFuneral.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
