Our loving mother, Ruby L. Wilcox, 87, of the Greasy Creek community, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Englewood, Tennessee on August 11, 1932 to the late George W. and Viola Roberts Mitchell. Through her life she enjoyed picking the guitar and singing praises to her Lord and Savior. She was treasured by all who knew her.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Loyd M. Wilcox, whom she missed so much; step-daughter, Rhonda Dunn; aunt, Addie Garrett; son-in-laws, Carroll McCall and Rob Theros; siblings, Jobi Mitchell, Carroll Mitchell, Wesley Mitchell, Maggie Cline, Ann Cox, Ada Wishon, Grace Garland and Ellen Ratcliff; several brother and sister-in-laws on the Wilcox side also precede her in passing.
Survivors include her loving children, Sharon McCall, Charlotte Theros, Larry (Sandy) Headrick, Brenda (Steve) Nicholson, Sandra (Ricky) Black, Lenore (Steve) Wilson, Michelle (Joe) Passmore and Karen (Mike) Raby; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Archville Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ray Ingram officiating. Casey McCall, Tim Myers, Mike Myers, Nathan Myers, Chris Headrick, Justin Pike, Josh Pike, Hunter Raby and Tanner Raby will serve as pallbearers.
