Obituary

Rusty Tyler Davis, 37, a lifelong resident of Benton, departed this life too soon.  He was born on January 12, 1988, at Bradley Memorial Hospital, and was a blessing and joy from that moment.

Throughout life, if you knew Rusty, you knew he loved to read.  Rather than a candy bar as the treat for behaving, for Rusty, it was a new book. He would generally have the treat "new book" completed upon arriving home.  His family was the most important aspect of life, with the duty of being Dad at the top.  Rusty took his role as a father seriously.

Rusty was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a proud veteran of the United States Army.  One of his brightest and easiest times has been over the past four years with his fiancé, Amanda Cheryl Hicks, as he gratefully looked forward to that day.  To have known Rusty means to have had a genuine friend who will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Atticus Finn Davis; Papa, Hoyt L. Lindner; paternal grandmother, Mary Davis; maternal grandparents, Arlie Hicks and Judy Lillard.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving and devoted fiancé, Amanda Cheryl Hicks; four children who were the lights of his life, Sadie Davis, Lily Davis, Ashton Davis, and Ezekiel Davis; parents, Jackie (Mitch) Lindner, and Reed (Libby) Davis; sisters, Amanda (Justin) LaRue, Olivia (Kevin) Hill, and Rebecca Davis; Nana, Deloris Lindner; paternal grandfather, Boyd Davis; three nieces, Sawyer Hill, Amelia Hill, and Stella Hill.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends, military friends, and battle buddies survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton, with Rev. Larry Coleman, and Rev. Hoyle Ellis officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, with Kevin Goins, Travis Moats, Justin LaRue, Hunter Ingram, Nathaniel Hidalgo, and Josh Hardin serving as pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
