Evelena Susie Ratcliff, 79, of Old Fort, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home. Susie was a homemaker and a member of Conasauga Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Ethel Jones Green; stepmother, Ina Marie Green; and siblings, Stella Harden, Jossie Lee Wilson, Calvin Green, Jim Green, Delmar Green, Paul "Tater" Green and Martha Green. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Ratcliff; children, Michael Ratcliff and wife, Kathy, Boyd Ratcliff and Sandra Hawkins and husband, Milburn; grandchildren, Brandon Ratcliff, Chasey Parris, Brian Hawkins and Lora Hawkins; great grandchildren, Samantha Parris, Tristan Hawkins, Tabitha Hawkins, Mathew Hawkins and Lana Link; brothers, Earl Bill Green, George Green and Enoch Green, Jr.; half sister, Peggy Green; half brother, Sonny Lee Green; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Dills, the Reverend Mathew Harris and the Reverend Jackie Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Ball Play Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
