Jonathon Terroane “Terry” Stinnett- 64, of Delano, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, departed this life on August 28, 2026, at home. 

A lifelong native of Polk County. He was of the Baptist faith. Born on August 13, 1962, Terry was the cherished son of Billy and Drusilla Stinnett. 

He was a man whose life was a testament to love, commitment, and gentle strength. Terry graduated from Polk County High School in 1980 where he played baseball, basketball, and football, alongside his brothers. He then dedicated 38 years to his career as a mechanic at Johns Manville, where he was known for his skilled hands and unwavering work ethic, before retiring in 2018. 

He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Vols and Polk County Wildcats and enjoyed NASCAR racing as well. Terry was a man of quiet demeanor but possessed a heart filled with fierce love for his family. He found great joy in working with his hands, often bringing to life the imaginative ideas of his daughter. He also spent many days with his son bringing an old Chevy step-side truck back to life. His creations were not only a testament to his skill but also the depth of his affection for his family. His greatest joy in recent years was spending time with his grandson. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Loris and Pearl Evans and Alfred and Stella Stinnett, his father and mother-in-law Steve and Elizabeth “Tib” McNutt. 

Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years Stefanie Nicole “Niki” Stinnett, his cherished children Jonathon Cameron Stinnett and Alexis Deon (Amber) Barnes, his beloved grandson Dechlan Jobe Barnes, his loving siblings Chris (Diane) Stinnett, Greg (Ann) Stinnett, Dennis (Darlene) Stinnett, and Amanda (Jimmy) Hawkins, adored sister-in-law Melissa “Missie” McNutt. He also leaves behind a whole host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the nurses at Gentiva Hospice and a very special thank you to Ms. Charlotte Ooten for filling his final weeks with so much love, support, and comfort.
