Owen Tommy "Cornbread" Rymer, 63, of Benton, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2020.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #636, Painters Union #226 for 20 years and was the business rep for the Local #226 and #437. He enjoyed selling corn and interacting with all of his customers and loved hunting, fishing and was a master story teller. Tommy loved spending time with his friends and family and adored being with his beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Melvin Rymer; one brother, Willie Phillip Rymer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Karen Darlene "Dolly" Rymer; beloved children, Karen Rymer (Joseph) Lowry, Matthew Rymer and Sara Rymer; adored grandchildren, Bella and Owen Lowry; siblings, Margie (Ronnie) Raines and Wilma (Thomas) Jones; special friends, Ray Whitehead, Morris Swafford and Jeff Swanson. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hatcher and Pastor Carl Haulk officiating. Interment will follow at Rymer Cemetery with Morris Swafford, Mickey Cronan, Mitchell Santiago, Jeff Swanson, Ray Whitehead, Ryan Enos, Dennis Waters, David Rymer, Rodney Rymer and Ronnie Raines serving as pallbearers. Joseph Lowry will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

His family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 and from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
