Velma Marie Baker Clark, 97, of Delano, passed away, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at a local hospital. She was married to the "love of her life" in 1933. She was a wonderful cook and traveled extensively in the southeast and northeast with her husband.

Ms. Clark was the daughter of the late Bud and Ida Rogers and was preceded in death by her husband and "love of her life" Buster Clark; one son Harold Lee Clark; one grandson, John Andrew Miller and one sister Kate Baker Clark.

Survivors include her children Lillian and Louis Pitchman of Tuscaloosa, AL; Linda and John Miller of Hixson, TN; Brenda Sue Clark of Benton who was her sole caregiver; two grandchildren: Neil Eugene Miller of Atlanta, GA and Jennifer Anne Miller of Signal Mountain, TN; one brother Burch Baker and two nephews: Neal Clark and Jim Baker both of Benton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Mart Duggan officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lou Pitchman, John Miller, Neil Miller, Neal Clark, Jim Baker.

Her family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
