Veneta Wooten Blevins, 82, a resident of Soddy Daisy, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at a healthcare facility in Dunlap, TN. She was a member of Miles Straight Baptist Church. She loved to travel with the Golden Agers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Blevins; parents, William Luther and Myrtle N. Evans Wooten; sister, Ruth Wooten; brothers, Dillard, Mabron, Burnam and Vernard Wooten. Survivors include her sons, Dwight Crook of Benton, TN, Denver Dean Crook Jr., Atlanta, GA, Michael Bain, Delano, TN; daughter, Cheryl Dawn and husband Allan Case of Kimball, TN. Also survive are 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 22, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Goss officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, Benton, TN.
