Vickie A. Cantrell, 64, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on February 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 21, 1957, to the late Douglas and Millie Land Trew. Throughout life, Vickie worshiped the Lord while striving to spread the Gospel in a loving and caring way. A true friend to many, Vickie will be remembered for how she always treated each person with respect, dignity, and love to which led her to never meet a stranger. One of her fondest memories would be the blessing of being called, Nana, by her beloved and cherished grandchildren. She was a dedicated employee at Cottons Place "The Station" from the beginning and truly put her heart and soul into the business. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Douglas and Millie Trew, she was preceded by her brother-in-law, Marion "Cotton" Evans.
Left to cherish the many memories include her loving husband of 33 years, Mike Cantrell; beloved son, Jeremy (Krissy) Blackburn; cherished grandchildren, Sadie King, Madison Lewis, and Lathan T. Blackburn; sisters, Carolyn "Connie" Evans and Debbie (Larry) Pankey; nieces and nephews, Nikki (Jimmy) Renner, Paige (Daniel) Dalton, and Mitch (Janna) Pankey. Numerous extended family members and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Nick Herron officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Jeremy Blackburn, Tommy Blackburn, Jimmy Renner, Mitch Pankey, Evan Renner, and Doug Keel serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
