Wesley “Wes” Gregory, 55, of Charleston, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, surrounded by those he loved most.
He was born on December 16, 1970, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Norman Floyd and Gloria Anna Gregory.
Throughout life, Wes loved life, his family, and his friends. He was well known throughout the community and was respected by all who knew him. He and his family attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. A few of his fondest memories include hunting, fishing, watching WWE wrestling, gardening, building things, and especially cooking at “The Town Hall” for his family and friends. He was a prankster and loved aggravating those he knew. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, who he loved fiercely. He was loved by everyone who had the blessing of knowing him and will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Norman and Gloria Anna Gregory, he was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Gregory, and one niece, Stephanie Vasofsky.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved wife, Jennifer Faith Gregory; one son, Wesley Garrett (Mayson) Gregory; one daughter, Jessica Johnson and fiancé Will Sneed; siblings, Danny (Debbie) Gregory, Debbie Shugart, and Paula Gregory. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Council Baptist Church Cemetery, with Garrett Gregory, Michael Smith, Daniel Gregory, Shaun Smith, Will Sneed, and Shane Cansler serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lance Taylor and Brett King. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the committal service at “The Town Hall” located at 150 Old River Circle NE, Charleston, TN 37310.
His family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
