William “Grant” Ballew, 69, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 25, 1956, in Berwyn, Illinois to Ray and Edith Ballew.

Throughout life, Grant loved his family, fishing, and boating. A few of his fondest memories include mowing yards, loafering, lottery tickets and enjoyed meeting new people. He never met a stranger and will be missed by those that knew him. He was a true family man and loved his time spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Meyers; granddaughter, Madison Ballew; grandson, Kolton Ward; brother, Greg Ballew; nephew, Richie Cleveringa.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife of 47 years, Martha Woody Ballew; beloved children, Ray Ballew and Racynda (Andy) Ward; grandchildren, Logan (Callie) Ballew, Danielle Ballew, Jayden Ward, and Kaylani Ward; great granddaughter, Blakely Ballew; siblings, Gwen (Marty) Connolly, Gary (Bobbie) Ballew. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Benton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Lee Ingram officiating. Ray Ballew, Logan Ballew, Andy Ward, Jayden Ward and Gary Ballew will serve as pallbearers.
