Reverend William L. "W.L." Shipman, 90, departed this life peacefully on November 18, 2022, at a local healthcare facility.

He was born on October 20, 1932, in Old Fort, TN to the late Henry and Willie Kersey Shipman.

In addition to his parents, Henry, and Willie K. Shipman, he was preceded by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ms. Wilma Lucille Stinnett Shipman; siblings, Betty (Don) Stephens and Bobby Don Shipman.

Left to cherish the many memories include his two sons, Nathan (Stacy) Shipman, and Mark (Sarah) Shipman; grandchildren, Aaron (Jackie) Shipman, Grace Shipman, Tiffany (Chris) Harris, and Rodney (Lily) Burris; great-grandchildren, Oliver Shipman, Asher Shipman, Madelyn Harris, Gracie Harris, Katelynn Harris, and Brilee Harris, Maelie Burris. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Zion Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Hazlewood officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Chris Harris, Mike Stinnett, Chris Stinnett, Tom Jolley, Dean Stinnett, and Jeff Stinnett serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
