Zenda B. Saylor, beloved Mother, Granny, Sister and Aunt, departed this life peacefully on March 15, 2026, due to injuries sustained from a car accident.

She was born on December 12, 1954, in Joliet, Illinois to the late Elmer and Barbara Walker Wilson.

Zenda spent many years of her life caring for mentally and physically challenged people in both Kentucky and Tennessee. She also had a natural talent for sewing and crocheting and made so many items for those she loved.

She was a lifelong Christian and is likely rejoicing in her reunion with her Heavenly Father and all of her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Elmer and Barbara Walker Wilson, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 26 years, Carl Saylor; both paternal and maternal grandparents.

She left behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Leslie Sampson; son, Steven (Sarah) Sampson; her heart and soul, her beloved granddaughter, Hannah Sampson; three sisters, Cynthia (W.C.) Watkins, Connie (Steve) Born and Starla (Randy) Casteel. Several nieces and nephews who loved her also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton with Marlena Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Old Ocoee Cemetery with Steve Born, Anthony Walker, Marvin Walker, Josh Cain, Douglas Cogswell and Matt Ensley serving as pall bearers.

Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
